What Are Energetic Blocks and How to Recognize Them

What are energetic blocks?

In very simple terms, an energetic block means the energy is not flowing easily. Blocks form when the body cannot process or integrate the trauma, chronic stress, repressed emotions or negative thoughts.

Let’s say there is an obstacle in the vein and the blood cannot flow freely. At that point it slows down, the excess of blood starts collecting and creating a ‘lake’. The lake gets bigger and bigger; the body shows it to you as a bump; painful to the touch.

Who hasn’t experienced the fatigue and sleepiness after a meal? This is an indication that the body sent all of its energy to the stomach to work on the food. The degree of food-coma depends on what you ate and how much life force energy is in you.

Ever felt sleepier and more tired after sleeping the whole day; and who hasn’t done that? This happens because your life force energy slowed down to that degree that it is idling there like a computer cursor waiting for a command.

Have you ever had any pains, stiffness without hurting you physically? Well, that is a pain coming from an energetic block.

Energetic blocks are not only physical; they can also be psychological. Like not deserving a good job, not deserving a good relationship, telling yourself that you can’t do this. We self-create blocks with our words and statements, like ‘I’m tired of this’, ‘I’m sick of that’.

Many psychological blocks got labeled because the society likes labeling. Once there’s a label, it feels like you’re broken, but you’re not. You’re blocked.

Where do they come from?

It’s not just in my work that I see the blocks. I see them all around me, and the most common is ‘fear’.

People are not doing things because they are afraid. We distinguish between a real fear and a psychological fear. With my work I am affecting the psychological fears, anxieties, limiting beliefs, negative thoughts, patterns, etc.

A real fear could be ‘lightning storm and hurricane winds’ where you seek shelter to survive. These ‘fears’ are part of the survival instinct and are good to have.

While psychological fears are played by our minds; like a very common fear of speaking in public. We tend to freeze. The inception of this fear might be when you needed to present something in school, the school mates laughed at you, asked some real difficult questions and maybe you didn’t know the answer, because all eyes were on you.

If nothing like this happened in your life, and you still have this kind of fear, it could be another underlying fear is the trigger. It is possible that it is an ancestor’s block or pattern.

A great-great-great grandmother experienced a trauma and she built a certain belief. She passed that belief to her kids, and her kids to their kids and so on …. You get the picture. And now, you – that kid – have this same belief, because you learnt it from your mother. That’s how the ancestor’s blocks are passed onto generations.

A client reported to feel guilty doing certain things in free time and couldn’t figure out the reason. During the clearing work, it revealed this feeling of guilt was coming from a child-father relationship. After clearing it, the client reported having less weight on the shoulders and feeling lighter.

The tricky part? These ancestor’s blocks became the belief, and they are now your truth. You don’t question them because you’ve lived with them your whole life. They’re invisible to you. You think ‘this is how I am’. You don’t think of them ‘this block I inherited’.

How to recognize them?

Let’s make that woo-woo less woo-woo.

How do blocks show up in your life? They start subtle, but with time they become impossible to ignore.

Your body stores what your mind tries to forget. When the energy gets stuck, that creates tension and shows like stiffness of the shoulder or neck, or any other body part, and stretching doesn’t help.

Appetite changes happen in different situations. There are people who cannot stop the appetite when in emotional situations, or people who cannot eat.

Sleeping issues, getting up tired after the whole night sleep. As the life force energy is not flowing, the body will not get enough to regenerate and rejuvenate.

Feeling tired, sleepy and drained after socializing with people. And hence needing longer alone time to recharge your batteries.

Overreaction like anger to little things. Something minor happens and you become angry like the world ended.

When brain is not getting enough energy, thinking and remembering becomes more difficult. Forgetting words mid-sentence, starring at a blank page idea-less, losing the train of thoughts. The label for this is brain fog.

Mood swings; now you’re happy, then you’re sad, irritated, angry and a little bit later you’re happy again. A mood roller-coaster.

You keep meeting people with the same characters, and your relationships keep repeating.

I couldn’t stay in one place for a long time. I had to move, experience another place, another country, another continent, another excitement. Every time the excitement faded with time, routine kicked in, and I needed another boost.

I moved eight times. My last move was to Austria, for a job. As with all previous moves, the routine kicked in with a feeling of sadness and worry. This time the sadness felt way stronger and deeper. The question ‘what is wrong with me’ became louder and louder. I wanted to get to the bottom of it, without moving to another ‘end-of-the-world’. I realized that was a pattern, a block. I wanted to stop running.

If you want the full story of that move, that pattern, and what finally stopped the loop, it's all in here.

Blocks vs. Normal emotions

The difference between a block and a normal emotion can be related to having a “bad hair day”.

You wake up with hair going in every direction, being non manageable. Causing some stress and worry; normal emotions. After a while they go back to their normal position. All is good.

If the hair remains ‘going in every direction’ it becomes a block and you live with it.

Blocks do not get noticed as easy as ‘bad hair day’, therefore we do not address them immediately.

If your anger – your emotion – is just a ‘bad hair day’, it will dissolve pretty quickly. But if you hold on to that anger or grudge, it will become your new behavior, your new normal, and it will eventually become a block. Once it’s a block, it takes real work to clear it.

And "real work" doesn't mean more therapy or more affirmations. Here's why those didn't work for me, and what actually does.

What happens if blocks aren't cleared?

In the worst case/scenario if blocks are not cleared, removed, the body functions in a constant fight or flight mode, constant worry. It’s under stress, the cortisol levels are high, and doesn’t have time to regenerate, it will eventually break or get sick.

Often, if the body doesn’t get enough rest to regenerate and heal, it will get injured.

Keeping your body under constant stress is the same as keep stretching the elastic band. When the elastic band cannot endure any extension more, it will snap.

Same with our bodies – our magic machines – they heal while sleeping, resting and relaxing.

How to clear them?

Blocks are cleared the most efficiently from the heart, not the mind.

Why?

Because the mind created the block as a protection. The mind’s task is to protect you; it works just like an anti-virus. Therefore, the mind won’t let it go easily.

The heart knows the truth: the block is limiting you, not protecting you anymore.

When the block is cleared from the heart, it is detached and released. The mind finally realizes the block isn’t needed anymore, and it can finally be released.

After you clear the block, you don’t need to manage it anymore. No more need for coping. No more white-knuckling through anxiety.

It is GONE!

The power it got over you is released.

The label you got from it is dissolved.

With each clearing, another block is released. And after a while you reach the Eye of the Storm, the peaceful zen.

The blocks are gone, the labels are gone. You’re free.

What’s left? Just you & your Eye of the Storm.

That's not poetic fluff. That's the actual result. This is what it looks like in real life.
